The nine fires of Sant Joan arrive

The "Sant Joan" festivity is celebrated in almost all the parishes of Eivissa. Fire is the main element of the night before (June 23), the magic night full of symbolism, and the day of the Saint (June 24) there are masses and processions.

One of the most interesting fiestas are the ones in Sant Joan de Labritja. The "Macarrones de Sant Joan", but specially the nine fires that are lit at midnight, are the most outstanding elements.

The programme for this year (PDF format) includes a long and attractive list of proposals that start with a Flower Power party by DJs Javi, Pau and Miquel Botja dedicated to the 60's, and ends with a "mascletà" (firecracker display) and music by Can Raia Rocky Band.
