The cultural area, Can Ventonsa, in Eivissa, will house until August
3 the exhibition "Ficar-hi el nas. Essències i fragàncias
naturals." (Stick you nose in. Escences and natural fragrances).
The exhibition, produced by the
Fundació
"la Caixa", is an approach to the world of smells from the biological
and cultural point of view and that of the direct experience of smelling
60 fragrances that are presented prepared by different specialists, of
which only four are artificial: the smell of the school (a mixture
of orange, pencil shavings, urine, dust and damp), of the church (dust,
incense, wax and damp), the smell of chewing gum and of a burnt forest.
Finally there are explanatory texts that have been translated into braille.
