Is the declaration of the air transport as a public service proposed by Madrid enough?
In September the central Spanish government intends to pass the declaration of Public Service for the air routes between the Balearic islands. The public service will fix a maximum tariff of 72 euros, that will be 48 with the resident's discount, for routes between Mallorca and Menorca, and between Mallorca and Eivissa.  Meanwhile the times of the flights will have to be coordinated with the maritime routes between Eivissa and Formentera.

In opposition to what had been requested from the Balearic Government and from the Menorcan and Pitiüses Councils, the declaration of public service will not affect the links with the mainland.
