From april 8 to 11, coinciding with Easter, a new edition of the
regatta for sailing cruisers
La
Ruta de la Sal will take place. This event remembers the trips to
the island to collect salt, an important source of income for the
Pitiüses until the arrival of tourism: it was called the
"white gold".
The regatta starts from two different ports, the
Reial Club Marítim de
Barcelona and the
Club
Nàutic de Dénia, and both end in the port of Eivissa.
The route from Barcelona is free, but the route from Denia to the
harbour of Eivissa town, is keeping the islands of Formentera and
Tagomago on port side.
This year the list of accepted inscription includes over 300 boats,
with more than 100 ships in the waiting list.
